Our primary focus in the development of our herd has been to select animals with proven genetics, show history or bloodlines that have produced show quality animals. We have developed our herd by purchasing animals as well as breeding our own. We recently purchased the Kingwell Herd to increase the quality of our bloodlines and breeding stock.
This is exciting times for us, acquiring females with such a depth of quality Australian and British genetics. With the bonus of pregnancies to top quality stud males including; Kurrawa Legend's Crusader, Gilt Edge Samurai, Beck Brow Explorer and Timbertop Goldmine of Beck Brow; we are expecting an exciting crop in 2018. We have also purchased alpacas from Little Eskrigg Alpacas including and Legacy Alpacas as part of our herd development.
We have used the following studs over our females for the 2018 season;
Below are some of the details of our female alpacas which will give you a bit of an overview of our herd.
Peony is a top quality white champion young female who will be starting her breeding career at Pottery Farm this year. Her sire is the multi-supreme champion Beck Brow Explorer and her dam, Blueberry Alonso Fedora 11 has achieved three 1st rosettes when shown during 2013/14. we have had some very good Cria born this year and we are looking forward to showing them in 2018. Here are some pics of a few of them;
Pottery Alpacas are delighted to introduce Pottery Kabuki Kanji, a beautiful mid fawn daughter of Gilt Edge Samurai of Beck Brow. Her dam Kingwell Dancing Queen (sire: Jolimont Attitude) is one of the females from the purchase of the Kingwell Alpaca herd. Kabuki is a stunning mid-fawn alpaca with genetics to die for!
Diamond Geezer is a stunning light fawn male, he has a very fine, dense fleece with excellent crimp amplitude and has good substance of bone. His conformation is excellent and he is very true to type with a lovely head style. His sire is Supreme Champion Huacaya Appledene Diamond Jubilee and his Dam is Blueberry Max Fortuna Fedora. We have high hopes for him in 2018!
Platinum Princess is a beautiful white female, with highly crimped fine fleece and excellent conformation. That’s hardly surprising considering that her sire is the legendary Beck Brow Explorer, her Dam is Blueberry Alonso Fedora.
Her sister Little Eskrigg Peony, who is also sired by Beck Brow Explorer, won Champion White Female and 1st Junior White Female at the Northumberland show in 2016 and we are very excited to see how Platinum Princess turns out in the coming months!
